My collection is based on the 1988 anime movie name Akira. Akira is a neo-apocalyptic Manga movie that is set in the future gangland's of neo Tokyo.This collection mimics the complexity of the relationship between the two main characters in the movie through the use of dynamic pattern making and complex intersecting seaming. With the use of vivid colour to highlight the intense and explosive moments in the story, I have created a high end street savvy collection using Japanese pattern making methods in conjunction with elements of work created on the stand.
